Institute Day on 30.06.2023

On Friday, 30 June, the Institute of Physics Day will be held for the first time after the Corona break. This will revive the idea of a gathering of the entire Institute, which had been very popular before the pandemic.

After some introductory words on the development of the Institute (13:15 Gustav-Mie lecture hall), there will then be a presentation of the groups through posters and laboratory visits.

Culinary accompaniment to the afternoon will be drinks and grilled food (between the refectory and the lecture hall building).

Abstract

Kurzlebenslauf

Binational French-German project on "Physics of Aperiodic Crystals" funded for three years.

04.06.2019: A joint research network of three German (Halle, Erlangen, Bayreuth) and three French (Grenoble and Caen) research groups has been co-funded by the two national science foundations ANR and DFG. Goals are the understanding of long-range aperiodic order on the physical properties of new materials. The strong cooperation of leading experts in complementary science fields has been highlighted in the funding decision. The research at the Martin-Luther-Universität Halle-Wittenberg is headed by Dr. S. Förster and Prof. Dr. W. Widdra and will focus on Oxide Quasicrystals. The project in Halle includes experiments at Synchrotron Facilities in Grenoble and Paris as well as a PhD student exchange in close cooperation with the project partners.

Physiker erhalten Technologie-Transferpreis
