The conference office is located in the Cafè Einstein at Von-Seckendorff-Platz 1 (see Google Maps or location plan). Here is where registration and catering for conference participants takes place.
Traveling by train - Arrival in Halle main station
To get from Halle (Saale) main station to the Straßburger Weg tram stop:
Exit the main station at the main exit, past the DB travel center. Walk left along the taxis to the tram stop. Take tram line 4 in the direction of Kröllwitz. The tram takes about 15 minutes to reach the Straßburger Weg stop.
Alternatively, tram line 5 in the direction of Kröllwitz takes 21 minutes. Tickets are available at the ticket machine at the stop, sometimes also from the driver, or with a debit card at the ticket machines on the vehicle.
At the Straßburger Weg stop, cross both tram tracks and walk straight across Von-Seckendorff-Platz. The Von-Seckendorff-Platz 1 building is located on the left (registration, catering & lounge, company exhibition & electronics lab rooms). The Von-Danckelmann-Platz 1 building is located on the right (basic & advanced lab rooms).
Recommendations for hotels
There are a variety of smaller and larger hotels in the old (inner) city of Halle. Here are some well-located addresses that we recommend. Please book early.
- B&B Hallmarkt - Very well located on the old market in the city center. Tram stop right in front of the door, 10 minutes drive to the conference venue & 10 minutes drive to the main train station.
- The niu Ridge - Located in 3 minutes walking distance from the main train station. 10 minutes walk to the market square. 15-20 minutes by tram to the conference venue. Tram stop right in front of the door.
- TRYP Wyndham -Slightly decentralized from the city center, but closer to the conference venue. About 5 minutes by tram to the conference campus, 20 minutes to the main train station and 10-15 minutes by tram to the old town.
