Open Position - Team leader
We are seeking a Team Leader for our group "Batteries from sustainable materials" to help us explore new avenues for sustainable batteries beyond the current scope of Lithium- and Sodium-Ion batteries. We believe there may be potential to unlock materials with higher oxidation states. One part of the group is devoted to silicon air batteries, but we also aim to identify and evaluate other sustainable battery systems within this project. We are seeking candidates with a PhD in physics, chemistry, materials science, or a similar discipline who have experience conducting research in the field of materials research for batteries. Experience in project management and the supervision of students and qualification work would be a valuable addition to the candidate's profile. Excellent English language skills are highly desirable.
The compensation will be commensurate up to the pay grade 14 TV-L, based on the tasks assigned and fulfillment of personal requirements. This position is initially limited until December 31, 2027, and is full-time.

Open Position - PhD position
We are seeking a PhD candidate to join our team at the earliest possible date to develop new, sustainable batteries beyond the current scope. The project will focus on silicon air batteries with acidic and non-aqueous electrolytes. Candidates must possess a diploma or Master’s degree in physics, chemistry, or a related field. The compensation will be in accordance with the pay group 13 TV-L, based on the tasks assigned and fulfillment of personal requirements. The position is initially limited until December 31, 2027, and is part-time (50%).

We are seeking for student who are interested in applied analytical methods. Innovative experimental and theoretical approaches for wafer thickness correction in the new highprecisionresistivity mapping tool RESmap by Freiberg Instruments shall be developed. A fundamentalinvestigation of eddy-current spreading resistivity measurement technique in thin 4H-SiC wafers (< 350 μm) willbe implemented for industrial application.
