High-resolution NMR spectroscopy and biophysics of proteins

The biophysics group of the Martin-Luther-University of Halle-Wittenberg studies biomolecules by high-resolution NMR-spectroscopy on, investigates the biophysics of protein folding, and employs time-resolved NMR-spectroscopy to follow protein reactions. With these methods we characterize on the one hand the formation of structures as well as the correlation between structure, dynamic and function of proteins and their target molecules. On the other hand we aim towards a molecular understanding of pathogenic malfunctions of protein related diseases.
