Study information day 27.04.2024
To all high school graduates who are interested in one of our physics courses - physics, medical physics, physics and nanotechnology, physics and digital technologies, physics plus or a physics teaching course:
The Institute of Physics at Martin Luther University organizes a study information day every year. The next one is Saturday, April 27, 2024.
You are welcome! On this day we will introduce you to all of our courses, the university, lecture halls, laboratories and the physics environment in Halle. There is also the opportunity to talk to students from our institute.
Participation in the event is free of charge, but we ask that you register using the form at the bottom of this page.

Tentative Program
Meeting point: Experimental physics lecture hall “Gustav Mie”, Theodor-Lieser-Str.
9, 06120 Halle (OpenStreetMap ).
- 10:00 a.m.: Welcome, information about physics
in Halle and the physics and medical physics degree programs - approx. 11:00 PhysicsPlus, Physics and Digital Technologies and Physics and Nanotechnology degree
programs - approx. 11:30 The student council (student representation) introduces
itself: The institute and the city from the students' perspective - approx. 12:00 Small physics show lecture: "James Bond 007, the value cw and a lizard that knows physics"
- approx. 12:30 lunch break. Student council students grill for us and are
available for questions and discussions - approx. 1:30 p.m. Tour of various laboratories and internships until around
3:30 p.m - approx. 4:00 p.m. city tour on foot through Halle's old town. On the
history of the city and the university. Start on the market square at the Handel
monument.
You can withdraw from the event at any time. E.g. after the discussion during the
lunch break or during the laboratory tours.
The city tour in the afternoon lasts 60-90 minutes, depending on your interests,
and is aimed primarily at guests who are not yet familiar with Halle.
