Mie Conference 2008

Gustav Mie’s original 1908 paper on the colour of Gold colloids is continuously cited. This  demonstrates that light scattering by spherical particles is still a large topic of interest in different scientific disciplines.

To review recent developements in this wide research field and commemorate the 100. anniversary of Mie's paper, the workshop "Mie Theory 1908-2008, Present developments and interdiscilinary aspects of light scattering" took place at Halle University from September 15th to 17th 2008.
