Subproject A6

The topic of research is the characterization of surfaces of ferroelectric and magnetic oxides with electron spectroscopy (XPS, UPS) and especially with Metastable Induced Electron Spectroscopy (MIES) which is perfectly surface sensitive. The further development of this method to a spin-sensitive method is planned within the project. The position is available for 2 years, an extension being possible. We are looking for candidates with a degree in Chemistry or Physics with a strong interest in instrumental work as well as data processing with computers. Special knowledge in electron spectroscopy and UHV technology is welcome.
