Abstract
01.11.2010: Recent Publication in "Nature Nanotechnology"

A new kind of data storage allows for an increase of data density by a factor of 400 compared to technology currently available. For the first time, scientists of the Max Planck Institute of Microstructure Physics, the Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg [specifically the SFB 762 principal investigators Ingrid Mertig and Arthur Ernst as well as the SFB 762 co-workers Sergey Ostanin and Michael Fechner], and the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology succeeded in writing, reading, and storing information in magnetic form on the nanometre scale by using an electric field. The results have been published in the latest issue of "Nature Nanotechnology".

Abstract
15.02.2010: Recent Publication in "Science"

Dirk Sander, Valeriy Stepanyuk, and Jürgen Kirschner from the Max Planck Institute of Microstructure Physics in Halle, all of them principal investigators in the SFB 762, have published results of their basic work concerning the spin-dependent quantum interference in magnetic nanostructures in the latest issue of the renowned journal "Science".

Their results are relevant for the development of smaller, faster and more efficient devices in information technology.
